Mothers Day is a wonderful day for children because they get to show your mother how important she is to you. It can sometimes be hard for young children to come up with their own Mothers Day activity ideas. Here are some ideas for younger children (and their fathers).
Make Breakfast For Her. Dad may need to help out with this one. Have mom sleep in and bring her breakfast in bed. Put on a tea party. Mothers and daughters can wear poodle skirts or other dress up attire. Hip Hop offers a variety of children poodle skirts and adult poodle skirts for you to choose from. Have younger boys dress up with cute bow ties
Have a dance recital or dance party. Younger children love to dance, so it shouldn't be too hard to talk them in to this cute activity, and moms will love it. You could even use the poodle skirts from the tea party for the dance costume. Clean up the house. This may be my favorite idea. Waking up to a clean kitchen or bedroom will be a great present for any mom on Mothers Day.
Do a Mothers Day craft together. Make it a tradition to get handprints done to show progress each year of the younger children as they grow. The craft itself does not have to be anything too extravagant, just something thoughtful to give mom.
Buy flower seeds and or a planted flower. Plant flowers in the garden with mom. Moms love flowers, and this way she would be able to enjoy it for more than a few days. Write a letter to mom. Dads can help younger children write a nice letter expressing their love and appreciation for mom. Nothing tugs at heartstrings more than a sweet letter of appreciation and love.
