A Mother's Day Tea Party

Celebrate Mother's Day this year with a tea party! You can dress fancy in beautiful poodle skirts and decorated hats, and still mix in the silly with fun party games. Here are a few ideas to get you rolling for your Mother's Day tea.

Start by making sure you dress up for the tea. Poodle skirts are a great costume idea for any tea party. The nice thing with poodle skirts is that they come in both adult and child sizes.

Tea parties need a fun tea set to go with him. You can set a pretty stylish for your tea party, or settle for a child's toy tea. You can find both types easily online.

Decoration of the party hats for a mother-daughter craft fun. Buy Poodle Hat nice skirt to go with your clothes. Decorate with fake flowers and stones in plastic to look like the hats but chic.

Tissue paper flowers can be added to the hat or work as a center for the table. Online tutorials if you do not knowhow to make them. Kaboose is a great place to start with your search.

Pink lemonade can be a great substitute for tea at a tea party. Along with the "tea" serve yummy sandwiches, glazed scones, and any other appetizers you enjoy. Serve tea cakes for a dessert.

You can also have fun with table manners during the Mother's Day tea party. Make it a rule that everyone has to obey certain "table rules", such as saying please and thank you every time you ask or receive items on the table. Other fun rules could be no slurping, sitting up straight, using napkins, and asking to be excused from the table before you leave.

If you are looking for a fun party game we have just the one for you - Mrs. Mumbles! This classic game is a lot of fun for children and parents. The point of the Mrs. Mumbles game is to go the entire time with out showing your teeth. The first person begins by saying "Excuse me, is Mrs. Mumbles home?" with their teeth tightly over their teeth. The person they asked, also not showing their teeth, must reply "I don't know. Let me ask my neighbor" and then turn and ask their neighbor if Mrs. Mumbles is home. If anyone shows their teeth they are out of the game, and the game continues until the last person is left.
